I would expect latest and greatest Fedora to have that, strange. I see Debian has fairymax, so presumably downstream distros will, too. Not exactly a solution, I know.

I don't see any ads on chess.org, and Lichess doesn't run ads or trackers: https://lichess.org/ads

Oh, I'm with you there. I bought a big, fancy blender (Vitamix?) for my mother a few years ago; it has Bluetooth and can be run via an app. Pointless! That's why I'm leery of drones and other gadgets that use smartphone apps as interfaces, is my information being siphoned to a server in Shanghai? And I'm now dependent on a smartphone to do anything?

I'm not real PC. Sometimes I actually refer to someone as a stewardess. But I think they are called survalence cameras :) .

Tried KDE "Knights" v2.6 (Slackware 15), selected GNU Chess backend. Graphical front end is pretty simple, seems to Just Work. Surprisingly, it speaks the computer's moves.
