I would expect latest and greatest Fedora to have that, strange. I see Debian has fairymax, so presumably downstream distros will, too. Not exactly a solution, I know.

Oh, I'm with you there. I bought a big, fancy blender (Vitamix?) for my mother a few years ago; it has Bluetooth and can be run via an app. Pointless! That's why I'm leery of drones and other gadgets that use smartphone apps as interfaces, is my information being siphoned to a server in Shanghai? And I'm now dependent on a smartphone to do anything?
