Fine is in the eye of the beholder. I've written some units and they end up not
working the way I expect. Like killing and restarting the job until is hits the restart
limit. Things may be "fine" now. I just need to understand why this is
happening.

Install Fedora 43 from a clean install and systemd should work fine. Is
Slackware still on non systemd?
