That reminds me: the North Bay LUG used to have its meetings at the
offices of O'Reilly Media in Sebastopol. Later, they moved to Sonic's
offices in Santa Rosa. Maybe there's a tech company or ISP that would
be into hosting Saclug?
Brian, is Lugod still a thing, or is it moribund? I miss chillin' with
fellow geeks!
Allan,
How is Nevada?!
The Starbucks in Sac and (Peet's) close pretty early.
Lugod still exists in IRC. Tim moved to Denver and Will is maintaining
the PO Box, yet I haven't seen any interest from him to hold a meetup.
I have been going to the NBLUG meetings and I think they even made me a
board member. The former president of NBLUG stepped down and the current
president stepped in seemingly reluctant. Therefore, NBLUG meets at
Redwood Cafe in Cotati. It's a little less noisy than the Kupro's, yet
it closes at 9pm. I flew to the meeting in September. I flew into
Petaluma airport.
I live a short distance from Kupro's, so I am pretty happy with it,
despite the noise. I guess I am not doing a very good job recruiting new
people! This has probably been my downfall with SacLUG.
